Clemson Guest Post- Ciara Hautau- The Muddy Buddy

REESE’S LOVERS everywhere! All hail, the mighty and beautiful creation of Puppy Chow (also known as Muddy Buddy). Although the name sounds uninviting, come on it’s not even that bad everyones tried a doggy treat or two, this treat is incredibly delicious. It is made up of chex mix drenched in melted peanut butter and chocolate and doused with tons of powdered sugar. I was a little skeptical to try it at first, but it is possibly one of the most magnificent blend of flavors I have ever tasted. The rich chocolate compliments the soft peanut butter taste and is completed with the sweet goodness of powdered sugar. If you’re looking for a snack during game time or a pick me up treat during the holidays this is definitely a go to. Taking reeses to a whole new level, maybe this should get a new nick name, perhaps a chocolatey peanut butter extravaganza or chocolate peanut butter thunder, either way it’s incredible.

Recipe:

Ingredients:

9 cups Rice Chex®, Corn Chex® or Chocolate Chex® cereal (or combination)
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup peanut butter
1/4 cup butter or margarine
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 1/2 cups powdered sugar

Preparation:

1. Into large bowl, measure cereal; set aside.
2. In 1-quart microwavable bowl, microwave chocolate chips, peanut butter and butter uncovered on High 1 minute; stir. Microwave about 30 seconds longer or until mixture can be stirred smooth. Stir in vanilla. Pour mixture over cereal, stirring until evenly coated. Pour into 2-gallon resealable food-storage plastic bag.
3. Add powdered sugar. Seal bag; shake until well coated. Spread on waxed paper to cool. Store in airtight container in refrigerator.

Final Product:

yummy…
